New national population projections for the United Kingdom and its constituent countries are released today (15 November 2001). The new projections are based on the estimated population at the middle of 2000. They show the United Kingdom population growing from an estimated 59.8 million in 2000 to reach nearly 65 million by 2025.- November 12
