Deprivation Quintiles

Deprivation quintiles divide areas in fifths according to some measure of deprivation, and can be used to analyse variations in health between deprived and affluent sections of the population regardless of where they live. They can be of varying size, e.g. Health Authority or enumeration districts.
 
The national targets use quintiles for life expectancy at Health Authority level, and the teenage conceptions national target uses quintiles at ward level.
