This report:
is addressed in particular to policy makers in the South West Region
illustrates where poverty and ill health coincide
describes the link between social exclusion and premature death
offers local statistics in tables, graphs and maps to illustrate the assertion that social determinants can have a profound effect on health.
The purpose of the report is to proffer the evidence needed to persuade regional policy makers that their decisions can have a profound effect on the health of communities in the South West region.
